Bhaskar Updates: Talks between India and China in Beijing, for the first time after the Ladakh clash, sitting !

 

Delegates from India and China held talks in Beijing on Wednesday. During this, proposals to withdraw from the remaining places along the LAC in eastern Ladakh were discussed, although no result came out. This is the first face-to-face conversation between the two countries since July 2019. On 5 May 2020, there was also a clash between the soldiers of the two countries in Ladakh.

In Wednesday's talks, both sides agreed to hold the 18th round of military talks at the earliest to achieve the objective as per existing bilateral agreements and protocols. The Ministry of External Affairs of India gave this information.

CBI registers disproportionate assets case against former Allahabad High Court judge SN Shukla and his wife. He has been booked for allegedly amassing assets worth Rs 2.45 crore disproportionate to his known sources of income. This is the second case of corruption against the former judge.

Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi has been appointed as the new Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). Raghuvanshi is the Secretary-cum-Scientific Director of the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had recommended his name for the post last month. His appointment will be considered from the date he takes charge. He will retire on 28 February 2025.
